Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM) is a 2-year diploma course (including a 6-month internship) that trains healthcare professionals to work in primary healthcare, with an emphasis on community, maternal & child care—particularly in rural and underserved areas.

2-year program, typically structured as 1.5 years of academic coursework + 6 months of compulsory internship, or up to 2 years including internship

Recognized under NRHM, ANMs carry out maternal and child health, family planning, immunization, basic curative care, and health education
